A new Mambo template by YTW (Multi-templates)
Written by MamboHut
Friday, 12 March 2004

ImageThe best one to describe this template is the author himself, Here's what he has to say about his new template

YTW wrote: "Multl-templates example. 1 Parent template & 2 children templates. All are 3 columns fluid template, fixed sidebars + liquid central part. 100% css design.

The templates validate xhtml 1.0 transitional & css and works fine in IE 5.5 & 6, Opera 7.1x, Mozilla 1.6x & Netscape 7.1x (windows OS). - Basic CSS layout is taken from csscreator layout tool - You will find 3 different templates in there, one for the Home page, another one for the news/FAQ's/Web links category & content pages, and a third one for all other pages (Contact, Search results, Submit news/weblinks, any other content or sublevel pages)

It uses several CSS nested menus from the Listamatic resource - It finally uses also special Mambo scripts preparared by Konlong, that basically allow the main menu to have a XHTML 1.1 valid CSS output, to permit an easy use of the CSS menus from LISTAMATIC, and another script to manage a parent/children relationship between sevaral templates Enjoy it !!!"

Credits:

  YTW
Matt Mullenweg, for the image rotator script
  Listamatic, for the CSS menus
Konlong, for all the php scripting realised

Hacks & Mods - Inserting Separator between News
Written by Visualdensity
Wednesday, 10 March 2004

I have actually been approached several times asking how to insert an image separator or a <hr> tag between news/articles on the frontpage. Click here to see example. Just so coincidentally, a client of mine actually wanted to do this and a person named Rey Gigataras from Queensland, Australia wrote a small article for him on how to achieve this.

I obtained a copy of this article and wrote to him about having this article published at MamboHut for the benefit of everyone. So, here it is. With slight modification, his article is presented the way (almost) it was originally written.

Written by MamboHut
Monday, 08 March 2004

Since maintaining MamboHut is time consuming and costly especially for bandwidth usage and to continue with our commitment to provide Mambo community with our free service we decided to add a new paid service which will benefit people who desires to convert their current website or convert one of the thousands pre-made templates provided by professional designers from Templates Monster (templatemonster.com) available through our catalog for a discounted price to work with Mambo Open Source.

The new service will make it possible for many people to convert their existing static HTML based website to a database driven website that uses Mambo Open Source and benefit from what Mambo Open Source has to offer.

This is a good opportunity to show your support to MamboHut by spreading the word and referring people to our new service. Thank you for visiting MamboHut, we wish you a pleasant visit :)
