Mambo 4.6 Multi-Templates System Print E-mail
Written by MamboHut

One of the exciting new features of the upcoming version of Mambo is the multi-template support, which give Mambo users a great flexibility and control over the site look and feel

How does it work?

Installation:

As we used to with every new feature Mambo introduces, simplicity is always the key and this one is no exception, you login to your admin back-end, install the various templates from the new element manager by uploading the templates zip file using the “Install New Element” box.

Customization:

Click to enlargeOnce all templates installed you can switch to the templates manager and choose your default template and assign it to the any page you would like it to appear on, then go down the list of templates and assign each one to the desired page as seen in the screenshot, once finished assigning templates to each page of your site, click on the “Preview” menu item to see your site in action.

This new feature will greatly improve the end user experience by allowing to give each section of your site its own personality, for example you can give every section a different color scheme a different header or a different layout.

Validation:

Last but not least, Mambo 4.6 core is now XHTML and CSS valid which is great to keep Mambo look consistent among the vast number of web browsers available nowadays and it’s good for web designers who like to have their site validate.

Demo:

To see the latest development of Mambo 4.6 in action you can visit http://demo.mamboserver.com Username/Password for the admin panel is admin/admin
