How to install a Mambo component?

We released today 2 new flash Mambo tutorials on how to install to install Mambo components.

The first tutorial will show you how to install the component by uploading the component zip file directly from your PC and the second one show you how to manually extract, upload the component individual files and install it from the server in case your server doesn’t support gunzip

Mambohut.com is moving to a new server

Due to the traffic increase in the last few months and the need for a more powerful server to handle the current load and also to improve the overall performance of the site, mambohut.com is moving to a brand new monster server that features a dual Optreon 244 processors with 4 GB of RAM and SATA drives in RAID 1 setup, the server is provided by Buyhttp Internet Services.

The new server will be able to handle the current load adequately and there should be enough room left for expansion in the future.

Therefore the site is expected to be down for about one hour or so and it may take up to 36 hours for the domain name to propagate throughout the internet. We are planning to perform this transfer tonight (Sunday 05/29/2005 at 11 P.M EST)

Voting will take place over at our forum. We are going to add more information about each template author/website tomorrow. It’s just getting late here now in this side of the world, so head over to the forum now to cast your vote for the best Mambo template.

First of all, our apologies for the delay of this announcement and that's due to circumstances that we don't have any control over.

We would like to thank everyone that submitted templates for our contest, without the tireless work from everyone that gives freely of their time and talents, Mambo would not be what it is today.

Almost 24 hours for the deadline of the template contest, 37% of the people voted to not extend the deadline which is high percentage, therefore the deadline will stay the same.

So hurry up and submit your template as soon as possible before it’s too late, you still have a chance to win one of the offered prizes :)
